Arab Americans have been an integral part of the United States of America since its inception, contributing to society, including public service. 

Patriots & Peacemakers: Arab Americans in Service to Our Country tells true stories of heroism and self-sacrifice that affirm the important role Arab Americans have played in the USA throughout its history. 

Patriots & Peacemakers highlights three specific areas of service: the U.S. Armed Forces, diplomatic service and the Peace Corps. Personal narratives highlight Arab American men and women of different national and religious backgrounds. 

It features the experiences of 170 individuals throughout the course of American history, beginning with service in the Revolutionary War and continuing through to current Peace Corps volunteers. 

This exhibition also encourages visitors to consider how commitment to public service impacts them in their daily lives. Patriots & Peacemakers: Arab Americans in Service to Our Country – was created by the Arab American National Museum. 

The Patriots & Peacemakers exhibition opened on March 10th and will run through to May 9th 2017 at the Lansing Community College, 411 North Grand Avenue, Lansing, MI 48933, before going on display at the Pentagon.
