Thousands of people packed into Manchester yesterday, to celebrate Armed Forces Day, where Veterans from across the city were invited to the event, which was held to commemorate the work and sacrifice of servicemen and women through the ages.
It was the third year that the occasion had been marked in the city centre and similar events were held across Greater Manchester. Veterans joined young cadets at Victoria Park in Denton for a memorial service, led by Father Alec Mitchell, the Dean of Tameside.
Wreaths were laid at the war memorial – and councillor Gerald Cooney signed a covenant on behalf of the town hall pledging to recognise their sacrifices and ensure service people and their families are treated fairly.
I took the following pictures on the stalls we held for both Combat Stress and the Royal British Legion, who both received a fantastic public response. You can also check out more photographs of us at Armed Forces Day here
