Shell Shock, by Neil Blower, the short novel dealing powerfully with the affliction of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) will be launched on October 1st by FireStep Publishing.

The book is the story of former squaddie Tommy Atkins, as he struggles with civilian life after his return from combat. Even post office queues and a visit to retailer IKEA become struggles to surmount in Tommyʼs world.Debut author, Neil Blower, aged 28, served for five years in the Royal Tank Regiment, including involvement in the operations in Kosovo and front line action in the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Written in diary form and based on Neilʼs own experience, Shell Shock highlights the work of the charity Combat Stress in helping military personnel suffering with PTSD. For every book sold a donation of £1 will go to Combat Stress.
